Engage and Empower Remote Employees to Give Back
CHALLENGE
Ruder Finn, the parent company of SPI Group, wanted to keep employees active and engaged as they worked remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company also wanted to make a donation to COVID-19 relief efforts.
ACTION
Seeing opportunity in adversity, SPI Group launched a fitness challenge that:
- addressed employees’ health and well-being by encouraging them to keep active
- built unity among colleagues by enabling them to work together towards a common goal
- empowered employees with a way to help those in need
SPI Group developed a mobile-friendly website where employees could:
- log their workouts
- upload a photo/caption from their workout that would display in a photo gallery
- see how much they raised in real time and what charities benefitted
RESULTS
In the first few days of the program, more than 20% of employees submitted a workout. Feedback showed employees were excited to take part, felt more connected to one another, and were thankful for having a way to give back.
